Vision 2006
Where Are We Going?
Compelled by the love of Christ and the commission He has given His
church, Vision 2006 is a plan for making a significant and biblical
impact upon the lives of those among us, and in the community: to see
people brought into a relationship with Christ and His Church.
Purposing to move forward in faith, on the foundation of God’s
unfailing promises, Vision 2006 calls for the following by the end of
year 2006.
 | To improve the quality of public worship such that it is characterized by reverential awe, expectant faith, and joy so that the participants will know they have encountered the presence of our awesome God. | | To actively encourage and train every individual and family to observe private, family and community worship with faithful regularity. | | To have a fervent prayer ministry that reflects New Testament boldness in calling upon the Lord to show His power in fulfilling His promises. | | To provide many biblical, spiritual and social contexts in which all at First OPC are able to exercise the “one-another” commands of the Bible. | | To foster warm, sensitive and caring activities that will focus on fellowship and Christian community. | | To continue and expand our compassion-driven diaconal ministry that includes hands-on assistance to individuals or families with physical needs, while addressing their spiritual needs. | | To develop and implement regular bridge-building events for presenting the Good News to others. | | To establish an on-going program for incorporating new members into the life of this church. | | To encourage and support church members to be involved in short-term mission opportunities. |
